GREENWICH, Conn., Dec 02, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE: WRB) today announced the appointment of Gillian James to the newly created office of senior vice president - enterprise risk management. Her duties will include identifying, analyzing, modeling, responding to and monitoring risk, events and opportunities. Ms. James' appointment is effective December 3, 2009.
Ms. James has over 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, having served in the United Kingdom as a senior executive at a leading reinsurance intermediary where she headed the analytic team. She has extensive experience in stochastic model development and analysis and its application to strategic decision making. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Cardiff University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
